Data Deletion

Last updated: June 17, 2026

You can delete your Wedding Asia World account and the personal information attached to it at any time, free of charge. This page walks you through how, what disappears, and the few things we’re legally required to hold on to. We’ve tried to make this as simple and reassuring as possible — if anything is unclear, just email customercare@weddingasiaworld.com and a real person will help.

Our promise

  • You’re always in control. Asking us to delete your account is straightforward and you don’t need to give a reason.
  • You get a 30-day safety net. Nothing is permanently erased for 30 days, so accidental taps and second thoughts are easy to undo.
  • We tell you exactly what we keep and why. The small handful of records we’re required to retain are listed in plain English further down.

How to delete your account

You can start a deletion request in any of three ways.

1. From inside the app (easiest)

Open the Wedding Asia World app → tap your profile picture → SettingsDelete Account. Confirm when asked, and you’ll see an in-app message showing the date your information will be permanently removed.

2. By removing the app from Facebook

If you originally signed in with Facebook, you can also trigger a deletion from Facebook’s own settings: Facebook → Settings & Privacy → Settings → Apps and Websites → Wedding Asia World → Remove. Facebook lets us know automatically, and your account is scheduled for deletion within seconds. Facebook will also show you a confirmation code you can keep for your records.

Signed in with Google or Apple? Removing the Wedding Asia World app from your Google or Apple account won’t automatically delete your account on our side. To delete, please use the in-app option or email us — both are described here.

3. By emailing us

Send an email to customercare@weddingasiaworld.com with the subject line Account Deletion Request, and include:

  • The email address you used to sign up.
  • The phone number on your profile (it helps us make sure we delete the right account).

We’ll reply within 2 working days with a confirmation code and the date your information will be permanently removed.

What happens next — your 30-day safety net

Once we receive a deletion request, we don’t erase anything straight away. Instead, your account is marked for deletion and scheduled to be permanently removed 30 days later. During those 30 days, your account is paused: you can’t sign in normally, and your profile is hidden from vendors.

This pause exists for two reassuring reasons:

  • So you can change your mind. Plans change, taps slip, screens are misread. The 30-day window gives you a way back.
  • So we’re following the law. Privacy rules across India and abroad allow up to 30 days to process a deletion request, and this is how we keep everything above board.

Changed your mind? Here’s how to come back

If, at any time during the 30-day window, you want to keep your account:

  • Sign in again using the same sign-in option. If you originally used Google, Apple or Facebook, just tap the same button in the app. We’ll take that as a signal that you want to stay, cancel the deletion, and restore your account exactly as it was.
  • Write to us. Email your confirmation code to customercare@weddingasiaworld.com and we’ll cancel the deletion for you.

After day 30 the deletion goes through, and we can no longer bring the account back.

What gets permanently removed

Once the 30-day window ends, we permanently erase the following:

  • Your account (email, password and any social sign-in link).
  • Your profile (name, phone, address, city, state, pincode, gender, date of birth, wedding date and the vendor categories you were interested in).
  • Your wishlists of vendors.
  • Your event registrations.
  • Any feedback or reviews you posted.
  • Your push-notification tokens, so we stop sending you notifications.
  • Your offer redemption history.
  • The random “device tag” we used to recognise your phone (see Section 2 of the Privacy Policy).
  • Your sign-in record on Firebase Authentication (Google’s service that powers our log-in).

Anything we don’t list above is either covered by the next section, or doesn’t exist on our servers in the first place.

The small handful of things we have to keep — and why

  • Payment records (up to 7 years). Indian tax and accounting law requires us to keep a record of every payment for up to 7 years. These records contain only the transaction reference, amount and date — no card details, no contact information, and nothing that could be used to message or identify you.
  • A deletion audit row. So that we (and regulators) can prove your deletion really did happen, we keep one tiny audit row per request. It contains a random confirmation code and timestamps — no name, email, phone or any other personal detail.
  • Anonymous usage summaries. The behind-the-scenes records of how the app is used (which screens were busy, how fast pages loaded) are automatically removed within 90 days. The summaries we keep for product reporting after that contain no personal identifiers — they’re just counts and averages.
  • Information already with our trusted partners. Anything Razorpay needs to keep for payment records, Firebase needs to keep for past push deliveries, or our analytics tools have already aggregated, is governed by each of those services’ own retention rules.

Checking that the deletion worked

When you start a deletion request we give you a confirmation code. You can use it to check the status of your deletion at any time by visiting:

https://api.weddingasiaworld.com/api/auth/data-deletion/status?code=YOUR_CODE

The page will show whether the deletion is scheduled, in progress, or complete, along with the dates — so you always know exactly where things stand.

Need help, or something went wrong?

If you ran into a problem, didn’t receive a confirmation, or want us to look into anything, please email customercare@weddingasiaworld.com with your confirmation code if you have one. We’ll get back to you within 2 working days and walk you through it personally.

For everything else about how we handle your information, please see our Privacy Policy.
