Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 17, 2026

Your privacy matters to us. This page explains, in plain English, what information Wedding Asia World collects about you, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We’ve tried to keep this short and free of legal jargon — if anything still feels unclear, please write to us at customercare@weddingasiaworld.com and our support will assist you.

The promises we make to you

  • We never sell your personal information. Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone.
  • We only collect what we genuinely need to help you plan your wedding and find the right vendors.
  • You stay in control. You can update your details, turn off notifications, or delete your account whenever you like — right from the app.
  • We treat your card details as untouchable. Payments happen inside Razorpay’s own secure window; your card number and UPI PIN never reach our servers.

1. Who we are

Wedding Asia World is a wedding-planning platform that helps couples find trusted vendors — photographers, makeup artists, decorators, planners, venues and more — and discover events, offers and inspiration along the way. When this policy says “we”, “us” or “our”, that’s us. When it says “you”, that’s the person using our app or website.

2. What we collect, and why

We’ve grouped this by what the information is actually used for, so it’s easier to follow.

Things you tell us about yourself

  • Your account: your email address, a secure (scrambled) version of your password, and the sign-in service you chose — Google, Apple or Facebook — if you used one.
  • Your profile: your name, phone number, address, city, state, pincode, gender, date of birth, your wedding date, and the kinds of vendors you’re looking for. This is how we match you to the right people.
  • Sign-in details from Google, Apple or Facebook: when you tap one of these buttons, the provider shares basic profile info (usually your name and email) with us so we can set up your account. When you choose Google, we also ask for your phone number if you’ve added one to your Google profile — this just saves you typing it in. You can always edit or remove these details later.

Things that happen while you use the app

  • Your activity in the app: vendors you save to your wishlist, events you sign up for, offers you redeem, and feedback you share. This is what makes features like “My Wishlist” and event check-ins work.
  • How you use the app, in general: which screens you visit, which buttons you tap, how long pages take to load, and which version of the app you’re on. We use this to find rough edges and make the experience smoother. These records expire automatically after 90 days, and we keep only anonymous summaries after that.
  • Your device, in basic terms: whether you’re on iPhone or Android, the app version, and a notification ID so we can deliver the alerts you’ve chosen to receive. We also generate a random “device tag” the first time you open the app so we can recognise that it’s the same phone if you sign out and back in. This tag is not your phone’s serial number or IMEI — it’s just a random string we made up.
  • Connection details: your IP address and the type of browser or app version are recorded with activity events. This helps us spot fraud and fix bugs.

Things that happen when you pay

  • Payment information: when you buy a subscription or pay for something, Razorpay handles the card or UPI step inside their own secure window. We only ever see a transaction reference, the amount, and whether the payment succeeded or failed. We never see your full card number, CVV or UPI PIN.

3. How we use your information

We use the information above only for the following:

  • To create your account and keep you signed in safely.
  • To show you vendors that match your city, budget and style.
  • To send you the messages you’ve asked for — event reminders, booking confirmations, vendor replies, and important account notices.
  • To process subscription payments and unlock the features you’ve paid for.
  • To improve the app — finding crashes, fixing slow screens, and understanding which features are useful.
  • To protect everyone on the platform from fraud, spam and misuse.

4. Who we share information with

We don’t sell your information. We share it only with the trusted services we need to run the platform, and only as much as each one actually requires.

  • Vendors you reach out to: when you ask to contact a vendor or share your details with them through the app, we pass on your name, phone, city and wedding date so they can get back to you. Vendors agree to use that information only to respond to your enquiry.
  • Google, Apple and Facebook: only used to verify it’s really you when you sign in with one of their buttons. They follow their own privacy policies.
  • Firebase (by Google): we use Firebase Authentication to power sign-ins and Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver push notifications to your phone.
  • Razorpay: handles the payment screen. Your card or UPI details go to them directly, not to us.
  • PostHog and our own analytics: help us understand how the app is being used so we can improve it. We focus on patterns, not individuals.
  • Sentry: tells us when the app has crashed so we can fix it. We strip out personal details before sending any crash reports.
  • Gmail (Google Workspace): delivers our official emails (welcome notes, password resets, event tickets) from our customer-care address.
  • The authorities: only when we’re legally required to, and only the specific information they’ve asked for.

5. How long we keep your information

  • While your account is active: we keep your profile and activity so the app works for you.
  • If you delete your account: we wait 30 days (in case you change your mind), then permanently erase your personal information. The full process is on our Data Deletion page.
  • Usage records (which screens you visited, etc.): raw events are automatically removed after 90 days. Anonymous summaries used for trend reports are kept longer but contain no personal identifiers.
  • Payment records: we’re required by Indian tax and accounting law to keep transaction records (reference number, amount and date — no card details) for up to 7 years.
  • Deletion confirmation logs: we keep a tiny audit trail proving the deletion actually happened. It contains a random confirmation code and a timestamp — nothing that could identify you.

6. The choices and rights you have

You’re always in the driving seat. You can:

  • See what we have about you — just email customercare@weddingasiaworld.com and we’ll send you a copy.
  • Fix anything that’s wrong — most details are editable from the Profile screen in the app.
  • Delete your account — see our Data Deletion page for the full step-by-step.
  • Turn off marketing notifications — use the toggles in Settings, or unsubscribe from any marketing email.
  • Raise a concern — write to us and we’ll listen and respond.

We aim to reply to any verified request within 30 days. If you live in the EU or UK, the GDPR/UK-GDPR protects you. If you live in California, the CCPA protects you. If you live in India, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 protects you. Whichever applies to you, we’ll honour your rights.

7. How we keep your information safe

We take security seriously and use the same kinds of protections that banks and major apps rely on:

  • All information travelling between your phone and our servers is encrypted, so nobody in between can read it.
  • Your password is stored in a scrambled (one-way) form. Even we can’t read it — we can only check whether the one you typed matches.
  • Sign-in sessions expire automatically and refresh in the background, so a stolen token becomes useless quickly.
  • You can lock the app with Face ID or fingerprint for an extra layer of safety. That happens entirely on your phone — we never see your biometric data.
  • Our team can only access user information when their job genuinely requires it, and every access is logged.

No system is perfect. If you ever suspect your account has been accessed by someone else, please tell us straight away at customercare@weddingasiaworld.com and we’ll help secure it.

8. Children

Wedding Asia World is meant for adults planning their wedding, and isn’t intended for anyone under 18. We don’t knowingly collect information about minors. If you believe a minor has signed up, email customercare@weddingasiaworld.com and we’ll remove the account.

9. Where your information lives

Our servers are located in India, so your information is stored and processed in India. If you use the app from outside India, your information will travel to India — using the app means you’re happy with that.

10. What we store on your phone

The app keeps a small set of things in your phone’s secure storage so it works smoothly: your sign-in session, your biometric-lock preference, a random “device tag” (see Section 2) and a small offline cache so the app loads quickly. We don’t use advertising cookies on the website.

11. When this policy changes

If we update this policy, we’ll change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. For anything meaningful, we’ll also let you know inside the app or by email so you’re never caught off guard. By continuing to use the app after a change, you’re agreeing to the updated version.

12. Talk to us

If you have any privacy questions, concerns or requests, just email us at customercare@weddingasiaworld.com. A real human reads every message, and we’ll do our best to help.
